Department of “Food Biotechnology”

The department of “Food Biotechnology” was founded in 1995. The first leaders of the department in different years were: doctor of chemical sciences, professor Yerzhanov Kazbek Bekmaganbetovich; the holder of the State scholarship of the MES RK and state grant “The best teacher of the university”, doctor of biological sciences, professor Hozhamuratova Svetlana Sharafeddenovna; professor, candidate of biological sciences Lesova Janiha Tureevna; associate professor, candidate of technical sciences Zhaksylykova Gulshat Nurmaganbetovna.

Nowadays, the Head of Department of “Food Biotechnology” is associate professor, candidate of agricultural sciences Aralbaeva Arailym Nugmanovna.

The department of “Food Biotechnology” graduates bachelor, master and PhD students by the specialty “Biotechnology”. All three levels of educational program have been accredited by the International Independent Agency IQAA. During the last 3 years in the General ranking of educational programs the specialty “Biotechnology” takes 3rd, 1st and 2nd places for undergraduate studies, and 2nd and 3rd places for master’s programs and 1st place for doctoral studies in the republic.
